Budget Reset
What is Budget Reset?
Budget Reset is a Fire & Forget® setting that allows your campaign to reset to a specific budget every morning. This works in situations where you have increased your budget manually or through Advanced Day Parting windows so you don't have to worry about starting the next day off with a higher budget.
How Does Budget Reset Work?
The Budget Reset Fire and Forget optimization will reset the budget every day at 1:30 AM to the value that you have entered in the Fire & Forget settings for your campaign. If this setting is not enabled, your campaign will remain at the same budget unless a Advanced Day Parting window raises the budget, or you manually enter a new budget in the At a Glance Report on the Campaign Details page.
How To
Set Budget Reset
Manually enter the budget you want to start the campaign with every morning at 1:30 AM.
Examples
Example #1
Your campaign has been running its first day and you started with a budget of $200.
- The campaign had a very successful day so you increased the budget.
- At the end of the day, the campaign had a budget of $800.
- The next morning Budget Reset went into effect and reset the budget to $200.
- The next day, the campaign spent a lot of money but had poor conversions and lost money.
The campaign did not perform well the second day, but because the budget was reached at $200 the campaign paused.
Example #2
Your campaign has been running its first day and you started with a budget of $200. Budget Reset is not enabled.
- The campaign had a very successful day so you have increased the budget.
- At the end of the day, the campaign had a budget of $800.
- This budget continued through to the next day.
- The next day, the campaign spent a lot of money but had poor conversions and lost money.
If no other Fire & Forget features like stop or slow amount were enabled, the campaign may continue to spend up to $800 on the second day and have a terrible profit.
